1. Lieutenant Benjamin Woodruff was born about 1728 in New Jersey. His will was probate 29 Aug 1786 in Franklin Twp., Bergen Co., New Jersey. [Notes] Benjamin married Jane about 1749/1750. Jane was born about 1731 in New Jersey. She died after 1790 in Franklin Twp., Bergen Co., New Jersey.

They had the following children:

  2 F i Betsey Woodruff was born about 1753 in New Jersey. She died 1 May 1754 in Westfield, New Jersey and was buried 1754 in Presbyterian Church, Westfield, New Jersey.
  3 M ii Joseph Woodruff was christened 21 Nov 1756 in 1st Presbyterian Church, Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey.
+ 4 M iii Benjamin Woodruff was christened 29 Aug 1762 and died 24 Jan 1838.
+ 5 M iv Joseph Woodruff was born 13 Mar 1764 and died 9 Jun 1845.
+ 6 M v Joshua Woodruff was christened 31 May 1767 and died after Oct 1845.
+ 7 M vi Daniel Woodruff was born 26 Aug 1770 and died 1828.
  8 F vii Elizabeth Woodruff was born about 1772 in New Jersey.
  9 M viii Moses Woodruff was born about 1773/1774 in New Jersey. He died after 1786.
