Searching for info about my mother's ancestors. Her maiden name was Erline Elizabeth Long, born April 4, 1925. Her mother's name, Fannie (Fanny) Mae (May) Long. Her mother: Nancy Long. They lived at 766 Randle St Memphis Tenn in the 1940's. Don't know where they came from, but suspect east of Memphis. Don't know my father's name, race, age or anything. My mother said my father named me "Camille" because he liked the music from the opera. There is an opera called "Zampa" with a heroine Camille written by a Frenchman: last name Herold. Family note recently received says Abner Honea, Sr worked his way from Holland on a cattle boat. doesn't say where landed. He walked up the river bank to Sand Town, SC so he could have arrived in Savanah, Georgia. The note says Sand Town is now Honea Path but Historical Society knows nothing about this only that it use to be Honey Path named by Indians for the honey bees. forums in Holland have no knowledge of this name but I do see Hone and Honee.
