480. Dorothy Woodruff

BIOGRAPHY:  unknown newspaper.
Information from Biography:
   "Dorothy (Woodruff) and Richard Stewart of Columbus, OH, (formerly of Wellston) celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 27.
    A dinner party, hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Stephen Schwartz, was held at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse in Cincinnati.
   Dorothy and Richard were married on Oct. 27, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Okla., where Richard was stationed while awaiting orders to be shipped overseas.
    Richard retired in 1983 after 33 years with Electric Power & Equipment Co., of Columbus, as Master Electrician and Foreman.  Dorothy was a homemaker and active in volunteer work.  Richard's sister, Mrs. Helen Chapman, lives on Sixth Street, Wellston.  One of his brothers, Alfred, lives in Jackson.  His other brother, Frank, lives in Florida.
    The Stewarts have one child, Victoria Lynn Scwartz, and one grandson, Darren Stewart Schwartz.

Information from Birth:  A female WOODRUFF child was born 8 February 1928 in Vinton Township.  She was female, white, and the daughter of Oscar L. and Lola A. CAMP.

503. James Philip McManus

Information from Birth Record:  James Philip McMANUS was born September 24, 1925 in Vinton Township.  He is male, white and the son of Willis Calvin McMANUS and Clare WOODRUFF.

Information from Obituary Record:  HAMDEN - James P. McManus Sr., 75, of Woolweaver Avenue, Hamden, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 1, 2000, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.  He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Orton, son of the late Willis and Clara Woodruff McManus. He was a carpenter and retired in 1987 from Conrail Railroad. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of McArthur VFW Post 5299.  He is survived by his wife, Eula Bayes McManus; a daughter, Brenda McManus of Hamden; a son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Beverly McManus of Hamden; grandchildren Kristin McManus, Sean McManus and Derek McManus; brothers, Willis "Junior" McManus of Hamden, David McManus of Hamden and Earl McManus of Columbus; sisters, Shirley Wells of Westerville, Leona Wright of Phoenix, Ariz., Nancy Justice of New Plymouth, and Carolyn Cottrill of Hamden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David McManus; brothers Paul McManus, Jesse McManus and Frank McManus; and a sister, Judy McManus.
Services will be held Saturday, 1 p.m., at McWilliams Funeral Home, with the Revs. A.B. Maloy and Mel Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Elk Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today, 2 to 8 p.m.

562. David Allen McManus

Information from Birth Record:  David Allen McMANUS was born 22 May 1951 in McArthur.  David is male, white and the son of James P. McMANUS and Eula Maxine BAYES.

508. Frank Dean McManus

OBITUARY:
Information from Obituary:
   "Frank Dean McMANUS
    Frank Dean McMANUS, age 33, a resident of Hamden, died Tuesday, March 10, 1970 as a result of injuries received on a construction job in Athens, Ohio.
    He was born in Oreton, Ohio, March 25, 1936, the son of the late Willis McMANUS who died in 1960 and Clara WOODRUFF McMANUS of Hamden.  He was a lifetime resident of the area.
    He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and a sister.
    He is survived by his wife, Virginia ARNOLD McMANUS and a seven year old son, Frank Dean, Jr.
    Also surviving are five brothers:  James and Jessie of Hamden, Willis of Wellston, Earl of Columbus and Dave, serving with the U.S. Air Force in North Dakota; and four sisters; Mrs. Shirley WELLS of Westerville, Ohio; Mrs. Leona WRIGHT of Michigan; Mrs. Nancy AZBELL of Hamden; and Mrs. Carolyn COTTRILL of Columbus.
    Frank was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington in 1962.  He was a former foreman in the printing shop at the Sentinel and most recently was employed with the Ralphy Myers Construction Co.
    Friends may call at the Rogers Chapel after 7:00 this evening.
    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Friday at the Rogers Chapel with Rev. A. B. MALOY officiating.  Burial in Byer Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Mortuary."
