--  5 December 1832, Orange County, New York.  Benjamin WOODRUFF, "a resident of the town of Cornwall in said county & state aged seventy years . . . make . . . declaration . . . that he was born about three miles below Morristown in Morris County, in the State of New Jersey in the year 1762 & that his age is recorded in the old family Bible at home, when called into the service of the United States he was living at a place called New Milford in Bergen County, New Jersey . . . moved from thence to the town of Cornwall in Orange County, New York where he now lives and has lived for the last forty years."  Signed: Benjamin WOODRUFF.
--  28 Nov 1832, Orange County, New York.  "Joseph WOODRUFF aged sixty-eight and Joseph D. TICHENOR aged sixty-nine being duly sworn know each for himself doth severally depose and say that he resided in the place called New Milford in Bergen County, New Jersey that when the war of the Revolution began these deponents with Benjamin WOODRUFF now a resident of Cornwall in Orange County, New York, then lived at Milford aforesaid . . . that said Benjamin's father who was also named Benjamin was a Lieutenant in said Captain BOARD's Company during the war, that said Colonel DYE, Captain ROMEYN and Lieutenant WOODRUFF died many years since . . . And said Joseph WOODRUFF for himself doth further depose and say that he accompanied his brother Benjamin Seven miles when his company marched . . ."  Signed:  Joseph WOODRUFF, Joseph D. TICHENOR.
--  7 Sep 1855, Orange County, New York.  Catharine WOODRUFF, aged 64 years declares that she was "married to the said Benjamin WOODRUFF on the 2 day of November A.D. 1830 that her said husband died on the 24th day of January one thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight."  Signed:  Catharine WOODRUFF. Charity M. SACKETT and Julia R. SACKETT, both of Cornwall, Orange County, New York.  Each sworn to have known Benjamin and Catharine WOODRUFF for eight years prior to the decease of Benjamin WOODRUFF.
--  20 Jan 1858, Kings County, New York.  Catharine WOODRUFF, aged 67 years, a resident of Flatbush, Kings County, New York (but formerly of Orange County, New York) made oath that she is the widow of Benjamin WOODRUFF, late of Orange County, New York and that she has not remarried and is still widow of Benjamin WOODRUFF.  Witness:  Joseph B. KING, Catharine E. KING, residents of Flatbush. Signed:  A.G. KLIMMOND, JP.
--  1 Apr 1869, Kings County, New York.  Catharine WOODRUFF, aged 78 years, a resident of Brooklyn, New York swears that she is still the widow of Benjamin WOODRUFF.  Witness:  Joseph B. KING, Catharine E. KING.

PULIS one of the Justices of the Peace in aforesaid county David SCHOFIELD . . . and saith that he is now near eighty years (Between 75 & 80) a pensioner of 1832 that he has resided in the settlement of West Milford and Township of West Milford (formerly Pompton) Bergen County Between forthy-five and fifty years all this time he has lived where he does now and During that time has been intimitely [sic] acquainted with Joseph WOODRUFF now an applicant for a Pension . . . this Deponent saith he was acquainted with sd. Joseph WOODRUFF and knew and was acquainted wiht the sd. Joseph WOODRUFF & his brother Benjamin who now draws a Pension in New York state"  Signed:  David (his X mark) SCHOFIELD.
--  28 Nov 1844, Passaic County, New Jersey.  Joseph WOODRUFF, a resident of West Milford Township in said county aged 80 years served April 1778 with Captain BOARD, as a private under Captain Peter WARD in Col. DEYS Regiment at Hackensack, served under Captain Elias ROMINE in Col. DEYS Regiment in 1779, served 2 months in Captain Peter WARD's comapny at Hackensack, served Jul 1780 under Captain Stephen BALDWIN in Col. SEELY's Regiment at Morristown, served Feb 1782 under Captain John OUTWATER in Col. DEYS Regiment at Hackensack and served Mar 1782 under Captain Peter WARD in Col. Samuel HAYS Regiment at Hackensack.  Joseph WOODRUFF was born 13 March 1764 in the now township of West Milford "as appears by his family record copied from his father's records in which township he has ever since resided"  Signed:  Joseph WOODRUFF.  Joseph D. TICHNOR, resident of West Milfrod, aged 81, made testimony on Joseph WOODRUFF's behalf 28 November 1844 and David G. SMITH, a resident of Warwick Town, Orange County, New York, aged 84 years, also made testimony on behalf of Joseph WOODRUFF on 28 November 1844.
--  9 Oct 1845, Lebanon Township, Meigs County, Ohio.  "On this ninth day of October 1845 personally appeared before me Simeon F. SEELY a Justice of the Peace in and for the above named township Joshua WOODRUFF and stated that he knows of his Brother Joseph WOODRUFFs serving two months under Captain Joseph BOARD, one month under Peter WARD Captain and three months under Col. SEELY all in the old Revolutionary War and further this deponet [sic] saith not." Signed:  Joshua (his X mark) WOODRUFF.  Attest S. F. SEELY.
--  14 May 1853, Warwick, Orange County, New York.  Susannah COLWELL, age 44 testified that she was present at the marriage of Mary RAYNOR and Joseph WOODRUFF on 30 July 1827 and that the Rev. Charles CUMMINGS, a minister in the Village of Florida, Orange County, New York performed the services.
--  12 May 1853, Chester Town, Orange County, New York.  Gabriel RAYNOR, age 50 years attested to the marriage of Joseph WOODRUFF and Mary RAYNOR in 1827.
--  5 Sep 1903, Orange County, New York.  Joseph W. WOODRUFF, aged 74, claims to be the son of Joseph WOODRUFF who died 9 June 1845 and of Mary RAYNOR, his lawful wife who died 23 September 1884.  Joseph W. WOODRUFF is blind in one eye.  He said that the only living children of Joseph and Mary (RAYNOR) WOODRUFF were himself and Benjamin R. WOODRUFF, a son, who resides in Newark, NJ.  F. V. SANFORD of Warwick, NY was appointed his attorney and his PO Box is West Milford, Passaic County, New Jersey.  Witnesses:  Thomas and Elizabeth BURT who have sworn to know Joseph W. WOODRUFF for the past 27 years.
