Does anyone have any pointers on how to go about beginning a genealogy research project? I want to learn more about my family but I don't have much to work with so I don't even know if it is possible.

Hi I am not a McManus but I am a descendent on the Hayburn side and Woodruff side who married into your family. Glad to fine out more history on my family. Thank you.

my mom is a McManus her maiden name Katharine McManus

Maiden name "McManis". Just beginning my family history journey!

My maiden name is McManus. My grandfather, James Laughlin McManus, lived in NYC when he died, but I think he was from Maryland originally. Ring any bells? Do I have any cousins out there? His wife's name was Grace, and their sons were Donald and Kevin.

Born in Uniontown 1945, to William Alfred McManus He was born about 1906 in West Liberty, Pa., next to Vanderbilt, Pa. At the time of his birth they were living on Union Street. His father's name was James McManus

Very interesting information. I don't know much about my father's family, but would like to know more. He was born Jack Francis McManis in Broadwater, NE,in 1921. His father was Lester Wesley McManis and I believe he had an uncle Frank McManis. The family moved to Colorado when my father was young, and I believe many of my cousins still live there. Patty McManis Rossitto

Hi, my mom was Patricia McManus. Her dad was Dr. Matthew McManus, wife was Grace. They lived in Queens, NY. This is an interesting site, thanks.

Hi there! I just discovered your site! I am looking for information- just like most people here! My ancestors are originally from Western,Pennsylvania. In 1911 they moved to Ohio. I am looking for information on Isabelle McMannis Hamilton who died in 1890 due to complications of childbirth. Her husband was ? Griffin and their daughter was Daisy Ethel Meryl Griffin 1890-1976 ( my great grandmother). Her father died when she was four 1894 ish. She married John Dean Hamilton1882-1958. if anyone has any information on who may have raised Daisy or any connections to the Griffin/McMannis families, I would love to communicate with you.

Hi there! I have been lurking on your site for over an hour so I thought I may as well say hello. I am looking for information on my great grandmother. Her maiden name was Daisy Ethel Meryl Griffin and she was born in 1890 to ? Griffin and Isabelle McMannis who died in childbirth. Her father died when she was four leaving her to be raised by family but I don't know who. I do know that they lived in Pennsylvania. The western part, I think since that is where the Hamilton side of my family is from. Daisy married John Dean Hamilton born 1882. IN 1911 they moved to Ohio. I believe they settled near Akron/Stowe. Anyone know anything? I have lots of information on the Hamilton's but none on Daisy. I would love to share information....thank you for your site! Sherri.

I am looking for the parents of Newton McManis who married Eleanor Hale in 1825. His brother, George, married a Hale daughter also. I believe he was born in Kentucky or Arkansas, records show both. Any information would be most helpful...I seem to have hit a wall in my search. Thanks!

I have manes, Manis, Mannis, Maness ancestors ... Gibson, Huskey, Maes ancestors... any help would be appreciated. Thanks Anne Graham

Hello, My father and grandfather are from Dallas TX. Thomas W. McManis SR and Thomas W. McManis JR. I have brothers Thomas W. McManis III also Jay McManis, Morgan McManis (sister). I was just curious if any of you all know them or are related to me or them somehow. Thank you BM

Hello I was doing genealogical research on my great grandfather, Charles Boardman Taylor, and came across your site. Margaret Walton Taylor, who is listed in your surname index, was one of his daughters. Great site!

Steve
