I am working on the Malmquist, Barker line, and I am baffled about the correct John Barker, none of them that were unmarried at the time, fit the time zones. He is supposed to be the father of my childrens grandfather. Who left the family before he knew about the coming child. I have been interested in my ancestors ever since I was young and would go visit my Grandparents in Fayette Co., PA. They lived near Connellsville and Scottdale. I haven't been able to find anything on my G-Grandmother Harshman. I have her birthdate as August 15, 1858. Her name was Mary Margaret McManus. When I found your site on the family of McManus, I checked for a Mary Margaret who had a father named William, and a mother named Mary. Imagine my surprise when I found what I believe to be my Grandmother, her parents and here brothers and sisters. The only information I have is of Mary Margaret's father, mother, and her brothers and sister. I have as her brothers, James, Jacob, John, and David. I have a sister named Rachel, who died when she was very young. I have been told that Mary Margaret McManus and her husband, Franklin Pierce Harshman, are buried in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Fayette Co. in PA. This is not very far from where they lived. More success. I constacted another cousin in MO, Oct 7th. I knew of her, but hadn't known she was of Tewksbury/Sanders descent. And she has a sister. THEN, BEST OF ALL, I found the descendants of Anna Jane Sanders that I had been so concerned about finding. And she told me of another of the descendants, in his 70's, also having been raised in Stockville, NE, who will have better recollections, yet. He is next on my list to call. Everyone I have found is planning to send in their family trees. I'll send them some forms, so we can get all of the descendants of John Lewis Sanders, hence Tewksbury descendants, and hopefully some of the descendants of his full brother and sister, too. Everyone is accounted for, except Will Sander's descendants, I know who most are, but a little more research and I shall find them. Then, of course, they will be provided with probably more than they need of my research. Next, I forsee a reunion. As for the other descendants of Dr. Caleb Sanders, I'm hoping that you can find them although I do know the married name of one other daughters. I'll be sending that in, too.

Hi Natalie, my family comes from the northeast corner of Pike and south east corner of Ross Counties, Ohio (almost in Vinton or Jackson Counties) This area is closest to Richmondale, Ohio. Although I spell my name Coterel the are living relatives of mine that spell it Cottrill, Cottrell, Cotrell, Cotrell, and Coteral. My line as I know it starts with James Coterel who was noted as being a resident of Franklin Twp in Ross Co in the year 1819 and possibly sooner. He was living in Jackson Twp of Pike Co in 1820, 1830, and 1840. He may have been born in NC or at least lived there at one time. According to his Rev. War pension application he was born Oct 14, 1748 and that he was living in Amherst Co. Va during the Revolution. One of his descendants was a carpenter who lived in Chillicothe, OH and judging by the records I have he was adament that our surname was spelled Cottrill. his older brother was Hibert C. Coterel (Cotteral on his gravestone). I was just wandering if you know of any connection to your Cottrill family in Vinton Co. ? There are also Cottrell families in Gallia and Greene Co. I suspect that they may be distant cousins as the Cotterell/Cottrell families have been in this country since the early 1600's.

I was curious about your lineage in the KRIEBEL family. I can trace my Kriebel ancestors back to 1734 as they emigrated from Germany to Pennsylvania. I am trying to locate the son of Claudia Marie Burkey Lyons ????. This child was born June 1955, probably in New Orleans, and was probably named John Edward Lyons or Burkey. It is unknown whether this child was adopted out, or raised by the mother. Claudia was born 1937, location unknown. Her father was employed by the Savannah River Plant in SC in 1953, her mother died of cancer in VA around 1955.
